Nike Air Force Ones Shoes
The Nike Air Force 1 was designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982 and it is the first basketball shoe to use Nike Air Technology. The shoe was given its name after the plane that carries the President of the United States of America, the Air Force One. There are three different types for the shoes, which are the low, the mids, and the high-tops and they come in many different color ways, textures, and patterns. This sneaker is known for their two simplest styles, their all white and all black versions.

Since the first version was launched, the Nike Air Force 1 has now over 1700 color variations, which brings in almost $800 million in revenue for Nike. They were very popular among inner-city youth at first, and gradually spread among hip-hop artists and then to street ball players. The shoes were so famous both in the US as well as internationally, that in 2002, rappers Nelly and St. Lunatics produced a single ‘Air Force Ones’ in dedication to the shoes. What adds to the Air Force 1 craze is the City Series, a set of sneakers made to represent Puerto Rico, New York City, Detroit, West Indies and Tokyo. The shoes not only appeal to performers but to sports personalities well who wear them in games, such as Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse. The Air Force Ones have obviously found its way to the shoe hall of fame.

For the 25th anniversary of the original Air Force 1 in 2007, Nike created the Air Force XXV, deriving its inspiration from the original Air Force 1, way back when it was first introduced in 1982. Nike has produced several commercials as part of its massive advertising campaign that included several sports personalities such as Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Rasheed Wallace, Tony Parker, Jermaine O’Neal, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Paul, and Paul Pierce, featuring the music of Juelz Santana (the Second Coming). Since the success of designing a shoe after sport personality Michael Jordan, Nike provides several styles inspired from celebrities and athletes such as Keelan Miller, Jay-Z, LeBron James, Rasheed Wallace, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul and numerous others. This method has proven to be a success for not only Nike but the personalities as well, as this means thousands and thousands of dollars of revenues in advertising deals for the stars.
